Take the road north-west out of the village. It climbs off the plain into the snowfields and stops at a fingerpost; up the slope from there is Frosthearth, a hamlet of stone houses, snow lying thick on their roofs and icicles along their eaves.
- The fire pit burns in the middle, with log benches round it and a sled left in the snow. Every door in the hamlet faces it.
- The longhouse stands on its west side, its door open on the fire. Walk in out of the cold: a long hearth burns down the middle of the hall with a cauldron hung over it, there are fur-covered benches along both walls, and the high seat stands at the far end.
- Lamplight shows in the houses' windows, and comes into its own after dark.
Like Lastwater and Haywick there is no inn, so it is a place to visit. On the map it is the little snowflake.
